The chairman of "Our Party", Renato Usatii, has criticized the decision of the authorities to allocate aid to vulnerable layers of the population. He wrote about it on facebook on Wednesday, calling the aid an "electoral handout".

"Everything that PAS criticized in the times of the "captured state" - handouts before elections, assistance to certain categories of people, manipulations with public money - all this they do themselves, but the authorities call it differently and think that the people will not notice. This is no longer social protection - it is an election campaign at the expense of the people. PAS borrows money abroad, gives handouts, and all citizens will have to pay the bills. Helping citizens is normal and it is the duty of any state, but not once a year on Easter and not only before elections," wrote Usatii.

He reminded that "he also helps people, but not at the expense of the state budget, but at his own expense.

"I do not shift the burden to the citizens and do not use public funds as a tool for personal PR or election campaigning. There is a huge difference between sincere help and electoral populism paid for by the country's debt. The first is concern for the people. The second is cynical manipulation for votes.

We need a government that works for the people every day, not just on the eve of elections! We need a government that will work in the interests of citizens, not for the interests of one party," Usatii concluded.
